1. About This Policy

CircleRate.co.in ("we", "our", "us") provides free access to government-published circle rates and ready reckoner rates across India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Indian law — including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (SPDI Rules), and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

This policy is boilerplate and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. For concerns, please contact us.

2. Information We Collect

2a. No login, no account, no PII by default

CircleRate.co.in does not require registration or login. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily submit it through our contact form (see §4).

2b. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-G2FM92P1BH) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects anonymised data including: page views, referrer URL, browser type, approximate geographic location (country/city, not precise), and session duration. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage. Data is retained for 14 months (GA4 default). GA4 uses first-party cookies to identify unique visitors within a session.

2c. Server access logs

Our API backend runs on Google Cloud Run (asia-south1). Google's infrastructure automatically records standard HTTP access logs (request path, status code, response size, IP address, timestamp). These logs are retained for approximately 30 days under Google Cloud Logging's default retention tier. We do not export or manually analyse these logs except to debug errors or investigate abuse.

3. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. The use of the DART cookie enables Google to serve ads to you based on your visit to CircleRate.co.in and other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google advertising privacy policy. You can also opt out via the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.

Third-party vendors and ad networks that serve ads on CircleRate.co.in may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to measure ad effectiveness and personalise advertising. CircleRate.co.in has no access to or control over cookies used by third-party advertisers.

4. Contact Form

Our contact form asks for an optional name, optional email address, and a message. Submissions are forwarded to an internal Telegram channel operated by our team. We retain submissions for a reasonable period to respond to your inquiry. We do not share this information with third parties or use it for any purpose other than responding to your message.

5. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

• Google Analytics 4 — first-party analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) used to distinguish visitors and sessions.
• Google AdSense / DoubleClick — third-party advertising cookies used to serve relevant ads (see §3).

We do not use session cookies or any cookies for authentication — CircleRate.co.in requires no login.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymised, aggregated analytics data (e.g., "X% of visitors are from Maharashtra") without restriction. We will disclose information if required by law or in response to a valid legal process.

7. Your Rights Under DPDP Act 2023

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal data.
• Erasure of your personal data (where we have a legal basis to hold it).
• Grievance redressal — contact us at /contact/.

Since we collect minimal personal data (contact form submissions only, by default), most visitors will have nothing to request. For contact form submissions, write to us via the contact page identifying the submission date and content and we will erase it within 30 days.

8. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in India. Applicable legislation includes the Information Technology Act, 2000, the SPDI Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of CircleRate.co.in after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
